Every Piece Is One of a Kind

Each Chomp necklace is handcrafted by hand, one at a time — which means no two are exactly alike. The shark tooth at the center of your piece is a genuine prehistoric fossil with its own shape, color, and character shaped by millions of years in the earth. We celebrate that. Please allow for natural variation in tooth size, shape, and color from piece to piece. That variation isn't a flaw. It's the whole point.

About your tooth: Slight differences in shade, surface texture, tip shape, and serration are completely normal in fossil shark teeth. These are not factory-made replicas — they are the real thing, unearthed.

Where Our Teeth Come From

The shark teeth at the heart of every Chomp piece come from a single private fossil collection built over 30 years of hunting the beaches and waters around Venice, Florida — one of the richest fossil shark tooth deposits in the world.

These teeth weren't bought in bulk from a supplier. They were found one by one, by hand, over three decades. That's the provenance behind every piece we make. When you wear a Chomp necklace, you're wearing something that was resting in the earth for millions of years — and was found by someone who spent a lifetime learning how to look.

Ethical Sourcing & Legal Compliance

We take this seriously, so here's the full picture:

◈  Fossils are not wildlife products

Every shark tooth in our collection is a naturally fossilized prehistoric specimen — not a modern animal product. These teeth were shed by sharks millions of years ago, buried, and mineralized through geological processes over time. No modern animal is harmed, harvested, or involved in any way.

◈  Legally collected from permitted areas

All fossils in our collection were gathered ethically from publicly accessible fossil-rich waterways and coastal areas where collection is permitted under applicable U.S. law, or from private land with explicit permission. No protected lands, no prohibited areas, no shortcuts.

◈  No animals harmed — ever

Fossilized shark teeth predate modern ecosystems by millions of years. Our pieces contain no animal products subject to wildlife protection. No sharks were harmed in the making of your necklace — the shark that shed this tooth lived long before humans walked the earth.

◈  Exempt from wildlife trade regulations

Prehistoric fossilized shark teeth are not subject to CITES restrictions, the Endangered Species Act, or wildlife trade regulations. They are geological specimens, classified and treated accordingly.
